Hiatus from Maple. Game hopping, whee!

The reason why I haven’t posted on this blog for a while was because I was busy studying for my A+ Exam and also I’ve taken a break from MapleStory because there is nothing to look forward to. I do not want to delete any of my characters and Pirates look interesting.

So for now, i’ve been game hopping, starting with 2moons. 2moons is also known as Dekaron in Japan and Korea. I’ve gotten support from my guildmates from the guild I was in before while playing CABAL Online: Arcadian Massacre, the former SoulSociety. I got a Segita Hunter to Lv 50 and now due to lack of people on and due to the grindfest this game has, it has gotten boring quick so I went back to the game I played from the beginning of 2007, CABAL Online Japan.

I used the same proxy I used to login to Maple and found my character completely untouched and got some presents when I logged in too. I managed to get it to lv 117 and gained a few skill levels. I need to really get this character to double transcender but I always get sidetracked for doing Instances by myself. I need to find a day where I can just skill grind using Flash Draw/Impact Stab at Mecha Buffalos. This way I can get to Dual Transcender quickly and be able to get Completer skills when they are released in CB Japan.

Finally, another game that has gotten me interested is Mabinogi. This game will not come out until January 30th but I see some success from it. Hopefully NEXON will change how stuff is charged or I might be going out and using my red pocket money to buy lots of NX cards just to enjoy the full experience of the game and able to make a great character. I played it a bit on the Japan version, but I’ve  only made it to the camp in the Iria continent. Also due to my minimal Japanese knowledge, it is hard to figure out what the NPCs are saying because interacting with NPCs is EXTREMELY important in this game.

So this concludes my story. I MIGHT return to Japan Maple when Pirates are released but this depends if Global CABAL Online open beta is released within that time.

A+ Certification study status

I’m up to Chapter 8 now which talks about Power Supplies. I’m going to try finishing the chapter today and read the next few chapters tomorrow. I’m planning to do the practice tests once I finish reading the entire book then restudy the parts that I have a little difficulty on.

A+ Certification requires you to take two tests. The first test is mandatory and its called Essentials exam 220-601. The other exam, you can can pick from 220-602 (IT Technician), 220-603 (Remote Support Technician), or 220-604(Depot Technician). Since most people take the primary path of 220-602 (IT Technician) I did so as well.

Maple

Tomorrow, I will be on Maple all day. However most of the time AFK studying from my A+ Certification book. I will only be active when a Skelegon PT smega pops up.
Saturday however, I’m going to try and take a 1 day break from studying and train a lot.

Time to focus on life.

From here on in, I will only be on certain hours of the day. I will still reset my elf vend everyday but you might see a delay in giving the money to you.

The reason why is that I bought my A+ Certification book today which I will focus nearly 90% of my time on. A+ Certification is extremely important if I want to ever get a decent computer job. I know theres other certifications out there but most computer jobs need A+ certification.

Before I bought this book, I did a practice exam online and got a passing mark, but it was a barely pass, so I quickly figured that I would need to buy the book for sure.

I’ve only read three of the chapters so far (I’m reading up and studying on microprocessors now) and this is probably the first time I have never been bored studying, probably because i’m so into computers and its giving me lots of knowledge. The book even contains a CD that contains practice tests and some recommended software that the book author recommends!

I will still come on to play a bit during my 2x exp period, but I cannot guarantee me reaching 160 now because real life > MapleStory in all ways.

For the people also into computers and want to get A+ Certification, I am studying from this book: A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition. Most of the reviews of this book came out positive and they passed the A+ exam with “flying colours”. Hopefully it will be the same for me.

What? I actually trained?

Today, was basically just training on Skelegons with Himeko so she could get to lv 140. Before I started this, I went to fish for a long while, then did Zakum Quest part 1 a bit for some Dead Mine Scrolls (They are 210-220k PER SCROLL in Kaede). I also was soo bored in the morning so I did this in the FM.

For the people that don’t know what I spelt, its Hyatt from Excel Saga; yes the girl that vomits lots of blood and is as ridiculous as Excel herself.

At 4pm, me and Himeko went to Skelegon for about 2 hours. Afterwards, we went to do duo pap which was highly successful.

Now for her level up to 140!

Tomorrow, hopefully Himeko isn’t bored and can actually Skelegon for a long time because I want to get to about 70% tomorrow so I can actually get to 160 before my exp card expires.

Alright, sorry for not updating the blog for a week. There hasn’t been much happening this week and its only interesting to play on Friday and Saturday.

However, this happened last week. I was helping Himeko getting ETC for a quest she has not yet done and this pops out after blasting about 7 Dual Ghosts down.

Steely. I was TOTALLY not expecting that. I think my Luck seems to be increasing again.

This is what happened on Friday. Killing Head Ninjas and, out comes out a Ilbi AGAIN; this time on NORMAL DROP RATES!

The next day.. Same channel.. and sooner or later.. WHAT!?! ANOTHER ILBI!?

This week, there was nearly 0 Skelegon PT available for me. Although I joined one and gained about 22%.

Today’s party however, was very unusual. Himeko wanted to try Red Wyverns for Dragon Scales so I joined. This dropped when I nearly levelled.

This Metus sucked. 87 attack, so TO THE NPC TORCH!

Added three to Genesis

I’m not going to bother put how much exp I gained anymore, because I don’t update my blog as much anymore.

2nd Ribgol, but probably the suckiest weekend training day.

I was having very weird dreams today.. I was dreaming that FOUR red Cravens dropped in a matter of minutes at Dark Kentaurus, plus I was thinking in the dream that I was going to get points for them for sure.. But later, I woke up and thought.. crap…

The VPN totally sucked today and I tried to get a good connection but to no avail. So I waited until the Japan Proxies had their password updated and began training.

I trained very little today and I wasn’t expecting any drops due to the low drop rate from Head Ninjas.. However, after using Angel ray to a single Head Ninja, this surprisingly dropped!

Osht, 2nd Ribgol, however the atk was terrible.. Only 97 atk (4 below average).

I’m not even going to bother posting how much experience I gained today, but i’ll tell you that I gained nowhere close to 10% today, due to lack of Skelegon PT, and Head Ninjas completely got boring after a while.

Probably the shortest weekend training ever. However 156レベきた！

This morning was a busy day. I was sleeping until 8:30am and I didn’t get the VPN I wanted to connect to until 10am, where I reset my shop in a very bad spot because I needed to go out AND the server crashed overnight, plus put my character into the Fishing Area. With that done, I headed out to give some important confidental forms to my Hemophilia Nurse (Yes I have Hemophilia). Afterwards when I got home, I saw that I was dc’d from the good vpn due to the DSL modem losing line sync. However this didn’t impact on my training schedule because I knew that there would be those available Japan proxies from bbs.8558.org (Thanks to Fuao and Misaka代理 of the 8558 bbs in providing the proxy). So I got the password for the Japan Proxy I used and logged in successfully.

From there, I continued fishing and ate lunch. But I didn’t actually start training until 2pm because I felt like watching Star Wars Episode II (Yes I know crappy)

There was a Skelegon Smega that quickly came up and he whispered that if I could Genesis hunt, and I said yes I could and told me to come to the map. Before I did that, I restocked 1000 Elixirs (Approx 8M meru.), and started training.

It didn’t take long until

Ding, 156! I’m now even farther from my bishop guildmate 沈魚落雁, who apparenly levels slower than me (She couldn’t even get to 155 on a 2x exp weekend…) I went on for another 15.96% when the party started to suck when the 2nd bishop left the party and a non-combatant Bishop was added, so I left.

For the rest of the day, I wasted a few owls and reopened my shop in 2-3 selling 3 of Carl’s Maple Shields successfully. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better training day. I’m expecting to do Jr. Newtie PT tomorrow to spread the word that Jr. Newties are better than Skelegon in experience.

Weekdays are officially boring and 1.35 positives and negatives.

Hi there everyone, weekdays are now boring because there is no special events and gaining experience is painfully slow.. Weekends are basically the only time I can gain decent experience..

Today i’ll discuss about the pluses and Minuses about patch 1.35 you may think, a patch from jMS = always godly, but guess what, I’ll go through them.

Positives
- Jr Newtie Map is now trainable in and will probably become the new party map.
- Area bosses are in, and are rarely hunted when Japanese are sleeping.
- Lots of maps heavily modified to make training easier.
- Some neat Cash Shop.

Negatives
- The quests Suck, and some aren’t accessible (Eurete’s set of quests?)
- Alphabet quest is horrible.. I finished both and got crap….
- Leafre: Nest that was left behind (Skelegon) had its godly safe spot removed..
- Some of the map modifications are crappy…
- They fixed the double cast glitch.. (No moar saving time.. T_T)

and others that I can’t think of at the moment.

Also, when I feel not lazy, i’ll update the Bishop guide again by adding opinions on skill builds and monster training areas.

Moar Skelegon/Jakum.

Today, like yesterday was a great day. It didn’t take long to get on the VPN server I wanted.

I started out today at Head Ninjas while waiting for a smega for Skelegon. The first smega I pm’d said that the party was already settled and said he was sorry. However the 2nd one I pm’d said Please! So I went. I got to about 38% and the party abruptly ended. I went fishing for a bit while eating lunch and doing other things, then I used a smega to get me into a new Skelegon PT. This party was not that great as it lacked a thief, I invited Himeko to the party too, but she left about 40 mins afterwards. I left when I hit 61%.

The next few hours, nothing unusual happened, so I moved my character to El Nath early for Jakum.

Jakum!

Today, we only had an hour time frame for Jakum so it was either 1-2 runs today. Due to stupid delays as in, missing the last person because he forgot his Eye of Fire, the chance for 2 runs was quickly lost. The run went very smoothly. Here are the results.

Drops: Berserk 20, Beheader, Dimon Wand, Triple Throw 20. (No Helm T_T).

Our party consisted of me, Two DKs, two NLs, and a Xbowmaster.

This run is the final run from the guild until further notice. Remi said shes stopping the runs due to problems getting a time slot and also due to lag problems.

I was quickly bored after that. I also got 10.8M compensation from last weeks run.
